Most pool problems in Florida are not mysterious. They are one of seven readings drifting out of range while nobody was watching. Here is what we hold your pool to, and why each one matters in this climate.
| Reading | Target range | Why it matters here |
|---|---|---|
| Free chlorine | 2.0 to 4.0 ppm | Florida sun burns off unstabilized chlorine in hours. Below 1 ppm, algae starts the same day. |
| pH | 7.4 to 7.6 | High pH makes chlorine lazy and clouds the water. Low pH eats plaster, grout and equipment seals. |
| Total alkalinity | 80 to 120 ppm | This is what keeps pH from swinging every time it rains. |
| Calcium hardness | 200 to 400 ppm | Sanford and Chuluota well water runs high. Too much and you get scale on tile and the salt cell. |
| Cyanuric acid | 30 to 50 ppm | Sunscreen for your chlorine. Too little and it evaporates. Too much and the chlorine stops working. |
| Salt (salt pools) | 2,700 to 3,400 ppm | Low salt starves the cell and shortens its life. Cells run $500 and up to replace. |
| Filter pressure | Within 8 psi of clean | Once it climbs 8 to 10 psi over the clean reading, flow drops and the water goes dull. |
Ranges reflect standard residential targets. Public and HOA pools in Florida are also subject to Department of Health requirements, which we log separately.
How it works
Tell us the address, roughly how big the pool is and what is going on. If it is green, say so. We are not going to judge a green pool, we clean them every week.
Usually within a day or two. We test the water, check the equipment pad, look at the filter and give you a flat monthly number. No pressure, no bundle you did not ask for.
A fixed day of the week and a tech assigned to your route. If you have a gate code or a dog, we note it once and remember it.
Full clean, full chemical balance, and photos plus readings sent to your phone before we leave the property. If something on the equipment pad is heading toward failure, you hear about it early instead of on a Saturday.
Why owners switch to us
Every visit ends with photos and the actual chemical readings sent to your phone. Not a generic "service complete" text. The real numbers.
We are small on purpose. You get the same tech, who knows your pool has a bad skimmer lid and that the back gate sticks.
We tell you when a part is failing and we tell you when it has another two seasons in it. Both of those are worth money to you.

We recently moved into a new home with a pool that we were unfamiliar with how to use. Louis has been so helpful in making sure the pool is running the way it needs to run, keeping it beautiful, and responding promptly to any questions I have.

Takes about thirty seconds. You get a real number back, usually the same day, from Louis or someone on his crew. Not a call center, and we do not sell your details to four other companies.
Rather talk? Call or text (407) 687-6710. Fastest of all: text a photo of the pool and the equipment pad. Half the time we can quote from that.
Where we work
We run tight routes on purpose. Staying inside this footprint is how we keep the same tech on your pool and get to you fast when something breaks.
Not on the list? Ask anyway. If you are close to a route we will tell you straight, and if you are not, we will point you toward someone who is.
Weekly residential pool service in the Oviedo and Lake Mary area generally runs between $130 and $220 a month depending on pool size, whether you have a screen enclosure, how much tree litter you get and whether the pool is chlorine or salt. We quote your exact pool after we see it, and the price includes chemicals.
No. Gil Pool Service works month to month. If we stop earning the business you cancel with a phone call. We would rather keep you because the water looks good than because you are locked in.
Yes. You get a fixed service day and the same tech on your route. That matters more than people expect, because the tech who saw your filter pressure last week is the one who notices it climbing this week.
We still come. Central Florida gets an afternoon storm most summer days and skipping would mean skipping half the summer. If lightning is actively in the area we shift you later the same day or first thing the next morning, and you get a text either way.
Both. We repair and replace pumps, motors, salt cells, timers, valves, filters and the plumbing between them. If a repair is outside what we do, we say so and point you to someone who does it well rather than guessing on your dime.
Yes. We service community, condo and HOA pools with logged visits and documentation your board or property manager can hand to an inspector. Commercial pools are held to Florida Department of Health standards, so the paperwork matters as much as the water.
Tell us the pool, the address and what is bugging you. You get a real number back, usually the same day.
